Welcome to the February Pinterest Challenge Blog Hop! The purpose of this hop is to motivate us to not just hoard pins, but to make it happen! So this month, I chose to make Confetti Cake Batter Cookies from Sally’s Baking Addiction . For the January Pinterest Challenge I did a Snowball Sensory Bin .

My house is full of cookie fans and I’m always looking for a new recipe my family will love. Pinterest is full of confetti cake batter recipes and I wanted to give one a try.  I knew these cookies would be perfect to take to a playdate my munchkins had.

I followed Sally’s Recipe and all of her instructions.

Below are some affiliate links and I may make a commission for purchases made through the following links.

The cookies came out bite-sized, moist, and scrumptious. Everyone loved them and gobbled them up. I’m glad I learned from my last new cookie experiment, to buy extra and I ended up making 2 batches.

Things I learned from making Confetti Cake Batter Cookies:

    • easy recipe to make with kids
    • recipe is easy to follow with easy clean up
    • dough does get stiff and very hard to mix (I did it by hand like the recipe said)

    • dough was easy to drop onto the cookie sheet
    • cookies do spread as they bake, so leave room for that on the cookie sheet

    • cookies are so delicious make sure you buy 2 cake mixes
    • I used the entire container of sprinkles and it was a 1/2 cup, but it was plenty of sprinkles

Here is the cookie from the second batch with all the sprinkles. The recipe calls for 1 cup of sprinkles and I can’t even imagine that.

I was completely surprised when I ate my first cookie because it has a nice butter flavor to it, but you don’t add any butter. To me it was surprising to make cookies with cake mix and have them turn out so irresistible. I made banana bread once with yellow cake mix and it didn’t turn out well (that was a Pinterest Fail).

Pinning on Pinterest is fun (it’s one of my favorite things to do), but it’s really fun to make your pins come to life.
